Guinea-Bissau, since 2015
In 2015 we took a decisive step with the creation of Best Account Guinea-Bissau. The office was set up to support our clients in their operations in the country, with particular attention to OHADA business law and to compliance with local rules.
In the same year we strengthened that presence with a strategic partnership with a local consultancy, built on professionals with solid training and real experience on the ground. It is that combination that allows us to provide accounting, audit and compliance services on projects funded by bodies such as the African Development Bank.
The support is close at hand and matched to the reality of each market. The client has one partner from the beginning of the process to the end, rather than a string of suppliers who do not talk to each other.

Frequently asked questions
Which countries do you support companies in?
Our own operation is in Guinea-Bissau, set up in 2015. Through local partnerships we support projects in other markets within the OHADA zone. For other destinations, we look at each case before taking the work on.
What is OHADA business law?
It is the legal framework shared by seventeen African countries, harmonising commercial, company and accounting law. A company setting up in that zone has to follow the chart of accounts and the obligations set out in that framework, which are different from the Portuguese ones.
Do I have to set up a company in the destination country?
It depends on what you will be doing there and for how long. Some operations can be handled with a contract and invoicing from Portugal, and others require a local entity. That is the first thing we look at with you.
